Installed CCTV camera for security neighbor complaining about it

I have installed a cctv camera outside my residence and it's covering my backside views and some of his boundaries area. Now he is complaining for this camera against me and forcing me to change the position of camera, to disable the camera or to remove the camera from that position. At this situation I'm requesting you please inform me if there is any restriction or regulations about feetings of cctv camera outside the residence. Please inform me as early as possible Thanking you & Happy New Year,

The IT Act, 2000, is the parent legislation to deal with electronic surveillance. If a camera captures images of the private parts of a person, male or female, or transmits such images without consent, the offender can be booked under section 66E.there is no permission required for installing of CCTV at your premises , however if you are resident of a complex than you may intimate to the building committee but it is not mandatory. in case the coverage of cctv does not hinder anyone's privacy and is only installed in the common passage just for the security purposes, it is not illegal.

There is no law regrading installation of CCTV. I am curious to know the reason why that particular person is objecting against your CCTV installation?If that camera is not covering his house or creating any disturbance then there is no need for removal or disabling the camera.

yes there are some restrictions for this. you must install your CCTV cameras so that it covers your complete area but do not cover any part of your neighbour's area. it is therefore better to install you CCTV camera maintaining the above guides for your betterment. for any other query contact me.
