Fresh evaluation result publication delay

17-Nov-2025 (In Civil Law)
I just wanted to know if I can go for a case against my university to point out the extreme delay in the publication of fresh evaluation results. The university takes over 3 months to publish the result. I wanted to explain this in detail for somebody to understand but since there is a word limit that's all that I can type in brief. If you are someone who's just money minded and does not care about your client actually getting justice please ignore this as I dont want to waste my time explaining

You must first approach the University Ombudsman or the appropriate grievance redressal authority. If no effective action is taken , the student can then approach the Highcourt under Article 226 by filing a Writ of Mandamus seeking a direction to the University to publish the results within a fixed time . You may contact me for further details.

Delay of several months in publishing revaluation or fresh evaluation results can be challenged, as universities are expected to act within a reasonable time and cannot prejudice students’ academic progression. Before approaching court, you may file a written representation to the Controller of Examinations and Registrar requesting timely publication. If no action is taken, you can approach the High Court under Article 226 seeking directions for expeditious result declaration. Courts have previously intervened where administrative delay caused academic loss. Keep proof of your application, timelines, and any communication with the university, as they strengthen your case. Litigation is not about money here—your grievance is valid and legally recognized, and the remedy is available through a writ petition.
