Discrepancies in 10th marksheet and my parents name in their aadhar
11-Feb-2026 (In Civil Law)
My parents name is different on my 10th marksheet and their aadhar card . Now even the 12 th marksheet will be made after I give my exams . The 12th marksheet also has the same name as in the 10th . What should I do . Will it cause any problem in future because it is not possible to change my parents name in their aadhar card as that will cause discrepancies in my sibling's marksheet . Please help
Yes, this discrepancy will likely cause significant problems during future high-stakes verifications, such as for a passport application, government job joins, or admissions to top-tier institutions (like IITs or NITs). Automated systems and verification officers often reject applications where the parents' names on a Class 10/12 marksheet do not exactly match their official IDs.
changing the name of parents on a markscard requires to legal procedure to be undergone. you will also get the Markscard of 12 th as per information given by you. if your parenst aadhar card is matching with your sibling it is always advice to get rectify the markcard. if these rectification is not you might face issue for passport. beside i believe you might have not attended the age of majority. any one of your parents have to intitiate the proceedings. for further details call
If there is a substantial difference in your parents’ names between your educational records and their Aadhaar, and authorities refuse correction, you may consider filing a suit for declaration before the competent civil court seeking a declaration that both versions of the names belong to the same persons (your parents). Once a declaratory decree is passed, it becomes a strong legal document that can be used for correction of records and for all future verification purposes, including education, passport, and employment. This is especially advisable where administrative remedies fail or where discrepancies may create long-term complications. Taking legal steps at an early stage will help avoid repeated objections in future document verification processes.
