College authority is demanding money for handing over my mark sheets

16-Dec-2023 (In Civil Law)
I did my engineering in 2005 but recently lost my mark sheets. I reissued my mark sheets from the university. University sent the mark sheets to the college but the college authority is demanding money(Rs 50000) for handing over my mark sheets in the name of dues. I didn't have any dues. Now, what should I do?

U should file a writ petition in high court against the college authorities to give ur marksheet free of cost as it is ur right to get them. After 17 years there is no ground to ask for any dues from u . Also send a written complaint to collector and Police station of ur local area against them with a receiving and then file a writ petition the high will pass necessary directions . Contact me for any help.

Hello, is your college a private one or a government one? First thing which you have to do is to serve them with a legal notice, in which I can help. Secondly if your college is a government one then after the notice we can directly approach the concerned Hon'ble high court and if it's a private one then we have to go through the other way.

In case you don't have any dues pending ....kindly give the college authorities a letter in this regard with you no dues certificate ....even after that if they don't give you certificate ....file a case before High Court under Article 226 seeking direction to UGC in this kind of fraud being played by the college and university and an enquiry on the same.
