Charged for drunk driving, should it be mentioned in job application?

23-Aug-2023 (In Civil Law)
I was charged with reckless driving and drunk driving through a traffic challan by Civil Lines police station for which i paid a fine at the district court. The application process of IBPS PO has a question "whether any prosecution/conviction/fine/sentence/detention against you has been awarded by a court of law?" How much do i need to mention in the form?

If you have paid challan before the court and there is in order in effect to that, you have to mention that. However, if you have gone to court but you paid challan to police officer and there's issue no record of that by Cory then don't mention. It is all subject to under what charged you were fined.

If you are a repeated offender then it is a matter to rethink. Otherwise there is no need to mention such because it is an offence under traffic rules. You carry on without mentioning but for next time be aware.

The question in your IBPS PO is with respect to prosecution/conviction/fine/sentence/detention under IPC or any other Criminal Law prevalent in India. Drunk driving is covered u/s 185 of Motor Vehicles Act. You need not mention the same in your IBPS PO.
