Can someone claim ownership without rental agreement

Can someone claim ownership of a property if he stayed there for the last 18 years without any rental agreement?

You are asking about ownership which is to be determined by the title of the property, sale deed conveyence deed and other important documents relevant to property. If you have all of these documents no one can claim ownership irrespective of the fact whether he stayed there how many longtime. Another thing is that in no situation tenant can claim ownership as long as he is paying rent.

Being a tenant for such a long time
Yes, You can file injunction in the court .
But let the landlord file the suit first then you take your defence in the court.
