Can the entire oral evidence of a witness in a civil case be rejected by a court, if it is proved later that the witness had not spoken the truth during cross examination, while answering a question regarding a matter not related to the subject case.

The deposition of a witness in a civil case is also based on Evidence Act and therefore if the witness is found to be not credible then the court can definitely reject the evidence given by the witness by not accepting the same.

Hai. intersting... i dont get the boost behind the query. Any ways. Based on an answer of a single question the entire deposition cannot be rejected. Provided the said answer denies the whole case or the core of the case. Or if the answer shows the verasity of the deposition in an utter negative way. The query can be perfectly answered only if we knows abt the context Hope am upto ur query
