Can I challenge Phd admission without eligibility criteria ?

One student has taken admission at Tezpur University, assam for PhD program. The concern student does not have eligibility criteria. For PhD admission 80%marks is required in graduation level but the concern student has only 77.4%. Can I challenge his PhD admission in High Court?

Yes, the same can be challenged in the High Court in a Writ Petition; provided the person challenging the same was a candidate for the said programme and had failed in the said selection. Preferably he/she, himself/herself should have the required percentage.

Since admission has been allowed by the university authorities , they must have taken admission based on relaxed criteria ratified by the university Academic Council which is legal. Hence filing case in the matter may not yield desired result.

If u can produce the documents u can go ahead as u might need to established how u hv gained that info.Writ petition would be more effective in this case. But while u go ahead make it certain that you wont back off in the middle of the situation.
