Brother took loan and repaid amount but lender not returning cheque

Hello . I need a advice from ur side. Mere brother in law ne kisi private financer se intrst pr paise liye the Aur usne wo wapas bi kr diye. Ab wo financer uske cheque aur blank paper sign wala wapas ni de rha hia. Aur use torcher kr rha hai . Aur paise maang rha hai. .Humne uske against complaint bi file ki hai police me. Hum aage kya kya kre.
send a legal notice to financier with all the relevant transactions and payment details to the financer and warning him for an offence of criminal intimidation and action of fraud if he misuses the cheque.
