2 wheeler buyer is not transferring ownership to his name

I have sold my bike 3 months ago to neighborhood mechanic shop. Now this buyer is not transferring ownership to his name. Kindly advice any legal option I can take. For your information he has taken sign on transfer form and took my Aadhar card while paying amount. Alo, i have hand-over all document like original RC, insurance paper etc. We also have duly sign sale deed on stamp paper.

Need not worry. It happens every where . Normally mechanics takes bike and papers from customers and they will sell the bike to others . Any How you have taken sale deed it is risk free. But, insist him to remove your name from Vehicle registration. Then your 100% safe.

Sir this suggestion only. When your vehicle sold to other person and handedover the vehicle's all papers well and good, it necessary to be changed of the name in the original RC or in the other papers to avoid future complications, otherwise any things happened like accident or at time of petroling the vehicles by the concerned authorities by that time the driver of your vehicle has not possessed driving licence or by that time any things happened you being owner of the vehicle also liable for charge .It is better to change your name in original RC as early as possible,to avoid the complications. You must be keep sale stamp paper xerox copy.

HI You can also send a letter along with Form 29 of RTA directly to the Regional Transport authority through registered post with acknowledgement due and inform them of the fact of transfer. By this way the new owner name will be updated in the system and you will not be held responsible for future events.
