Will Cheque Gets Bounce After Person Dies
04-Jun-2023 (In Cheque Bounce Law)
We have received few cheques from a person where that person expired 2 weeks back, now that family is not paying us back, how I can proceed further and is there any days deadline to submit the cheque to bank?
Hello,
After the cheque has bounced, there's a 30 day time limitation as per the negotiable instruments act to send a legal notice demanding money. After that, there's a 15 day's time to file a complaint before the Magistrate. A time period of 9 months in total is given to the Court to adjudicate the case.
