What can be the legal remedy for forceful procurement of cheque

If anybody take cheque forcefully. I closed this account.if he present this cheque it will be stopped because of closed account. Can he do any case against me while l have not received in return of cheque What step sould be taken?

Dear friend, he can present a case against you but before filing a case against you, he might to send a notice, after receiving notice you can send a proper response/answer that you are not liable for their demand.

You must complain in this case secondly you will get notice for payment of money mentioned in cheque. In case u don't take proper action than you may be prosecute under 138 section of NI Act. So please call me in case of need

Even encashment of cheque denied due to request of stop payment is treated to be an offence under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. Hence, the holder of the cheque may well within law instute a case for bouncing of cheque, however you may explain your position to the court by filing the written statement.
