Hello,

As per the Ordinance, the offences under Negotiable Instrument Act - New Section 143A inserted which facilitates favour to complainant i.e. The court will grant interim compensation on the defaulted cheque amount not more than 20% and that is to be payable to complainant within 60 days from the date of order. The order will be passed after the accused appearance and when he pleads not guilty.

The amendment rules in the Negotiable Instruments Act are yet to be notified by the government and shall come into effect once notified. The bill is required to be cleared by both the houses of Parliament to become an Act.

the bill is not effected in the new act till now and if the bill is effected if the person drawee shall need to be bound to repay the money in a certain time frame or else he will be tried summarily and convicted for the offence
