Stopped cheque bounced by unknown person, how to safeguard self?

I gave to cheque to my son in year 2014. After checking my son told me that he is not finding the cheque. In 2015 I stopped those check in the bank. Now after almost two years I got to know that my sons wife had taken the cheque and now in July 2017 she deposited in the bank by some other person. When he deposited it showed it's stopped. Now please help me so that no one claim me for bounced cheque.
You are not telling that you have signed a cheque undated means no date filled by on cheque and may be amount . So please call me with brief of case so as to advice you properly. U may call me in case of need.
