Serving a notice to an absconding person under sec 138 N,I act

10-Nov-2023 (In Cheque Bounce Law)
One of my colleagues owes me Rs. 10 L, and he has been avoiding me for the past 1 year and keeps changing places of work and residence. My friends say if I bounce the cheque and the notice is not served to him, I have to personally look out for him and serve the notice. They also say even the police will ask me to show them where he is instead of they searching for him. I know some of his relatives homes, but they are not very helpful even though he visits them secretly. I do not have so much time to spend on searching him because of my work. What should I do?

you have to assist the police in finding him , if notice not served on him , it's civil in nature case and procedure in criminal , so you cannot shift entire burden on police to serve and he is secretly visiting provide information about it they will nab him.
