Sir, under section 263 (g) of Criminal procedure code the court has to record the plea of the accused and his examination as he cannot simply say that I am innocent and wants to claim trial. He needs to specifically file the plea of defence and thereafter the court will pass an appropriate order. For further query please contact us.

This is wrong order now the crpc is repealed and new laws of bnss applies aND the meaning of the 263 g is that the court will record the plea of defence which is the statement of the accused in the summary trial cases. Accused has must disclose his defence. now It comes under 286 g of bnss.

In response to the update: The court has framed a prima facie case under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. Since the accused has pleaded not guilty and claimed trial, the next step is the recording of the accused's statement under Section 263(g) of the CrPC. Ensure all evidence and arguments are prepared for the trial on scheduled on date. Let me know if you need assistance in drafting or preparing for the next stage. Adv. Mahinder Singh Mavi
