Let me explain my situation...I was planning to purchase one land 4 months back and I gave 40 lakhs check to the seller with 20 rupees bond pathiram without getting registration on sunday..after a month due to my family financial concerns then I decided to withdraw that buying options then I stopped the check and informed about my situation to sellingWe mutually agreed then I stopped purchasing the land. Now after 3 months when I ask cheque then seller is saying that we lost your cheque like that and playing with me for not providing the chequeNote: That given cheque was already expired and not valid for more than 3 monthsNow my question is that will they have options to legal for this issue or not. My understanding after 3 months cheque validity it can be used like paper and no more valid and they can't put that cheque in collection from other banks right.

after 3 months the cheque validity close so that they can't file the cheque Bounce case but they can file a summary suit for the money recovery which has three years limitation even after the check validity period closed they can use the check to file the case
