Previous company issued legal notice for cheque bounce after 3 years But I issued stop payment when I left that company.

The limitation period for issuing legal notice is 30 days from the date of dishonor of the cheque. Therefore, the action is likely to be barred by limitation. However, it makes no difference whether the cheque was dishonored due to insufficiency of funds or stop payment instructions. It is recommended to seek the opinion of a lawyer, with complete facts pertaining to your case.
