Is it possible to not arrest accused as warrant date is after 4 days

Police is saying we cant keep accused in custody as the warrant date is after four-day from now. Is it true that police can't accussed despite warrant issued.
If warrant is issued to Accused and executed by the jurisdictional police, the police has to produce him before the Magistrate immediately after arrest. There is no need to wait till the hearing date.
