is it offence if check is bounced for clearing dues of unregistered

Is it an offense if a cheque is given for rental dues (rental agreement was not registered) And is it an offense if the amount is cleared after cheque bounce?

Hi
Since you have paid the amount after cheque bounce, the offence under 138 Negotiable instruments act will no longer be applicable. However, you should ideally get the cheque back from land lord or at least an receipt to the effect that you have made the payment of rental dues equivalent to amount mentioned in cheque.
