Interim Compensation in Cheque Bounce case

14-Aug-2023 (In Cheque Bounce Law)
Bill on Interim compensation in cheque bounce case is just approved. So the complainant can claim a max of 20% of the cheque amount as Interim compensation. I have a case which is undergoing trial in one of the Delhi Courts. The accused has just taken bail from the magistrate. My question is that in my case can I request for Interim compensation as per the recently approved law ? If yes then what is the procedure.?

Section 143A of Negotiable Instrument Act provides the provision for interim compensation @20% of the cheque amount. And yes you can claim the same but only after framing of notice. And it is upon the discretion of the court.
