I'd issued a cheque to a lender but due to insufficient funds

01-Aug-2023 (In Cheque Bounce Law)
Hi, I'd borrowed some money from a lender and my cheque has been dishonoured today. The lender is threatening to file an FIR in the police station tomorrow. There has been no official legal notices sent to me in this regard. Can the Police intervene in this matter?

see in a cheque bounce case he cannot file a police complaint, but yes he can file a cheating case on you.
In cheque bounce a private complaint has to be given to a magistrate who will take the cognisance
but before filing of complaint the complainant has to issue u a compulsory notice demanding the cheque amount even after service of notice if you don't pay the amount then a complaint is filed with the magistrate

Sir, actually your cheques are bounced due to insufficient funds in the back account. therefore the holder of the cheque will issue a demand legal notice you with mentioning that your cheque dishonoured therefore make arrangement to discharge the loan liability otherwise he will intimate criminal and civil proceedings. if you receive the legal notice, you have to give the reply notice through an advocate. there after, the the holder of the cheque will file a private complaint against you before the magistrate. The court will issue summons to you. after receipt of the summons, you should appear and take bail and contest the matter. kindly contact further information.
