Do not ignore the bailable warrant. Appear before the court through an advocate and apply for recall/cancellation. Carry proof of repayment (receipts, bank statements, NOC). If dues are cleared, seek compounding and closure of the cheque bounce case immediately.

A bailable warrant is generally issued when the accused does not appear before the court despite summons. You should immediately appear before the concerned court (through advocate or personally) and file an application for cancellation/recall of the bailable warrant, explaining that instalments have already been paid and annexing proof of payment/settlement details. The court usually recalls the warrant on the same day upon furnishing bail and giving an undertaking to remain present in future. Also obtain a written confirmation from the bank regarding updated payments and place it on record to avoid further coercive steps.

You will be required to go to the court on that date and seek default bail or tell the bank person to withdraw the case or refer it to the lok- adalat, upon which your whole case will be disposed of, email this to the bank and file a complaint against them to be on the safer side.

Appear in Court Do not ignore the summons. If you don’t appear, the court may issue a bailable warrant or even a non-bailable warrant. 2️⃣ Inform the Court Payment is Done If you have repaid: Take payment proof (bank transfer receipt / acknowledgment / settlement letter). Tell your lawyer to inform the court. 3️⃣ Settlement / Compounding Cheque bounce cases can be compounded (settled). If the complainant agrees: File a joint compromise application. Court will close the case. ⚖️ Courts generally allow settlement at any stage.
