Dear,
First of all you need to understand the seriousness of a Cheque Bounce matter under the Negotiable Instrument Act and by issuing a cheque you have already agreed to pay the sum that is you are bound by a legal document now irrespective of the fact that you have lost your business or home right now you can best ask for some considerable time in writing by giving the reply of the Legal Notice noticed to you or else you will be liable for Criminal offence u/s 138 of the NI Act or else the aggreived party can also get your assets auctioned by the help of the court

it appears that a criminal proceeding unders section 138 N.I act has been initiated against you.
appear before the concern court for which you have received notice and oppose your case.if you have a concrete ground then you can move before high court for quashing of the case instituted against you.

Respect Sir,
I would like to inform you that as per the Law of Indian Negotiable Instrument Act you have only option to return the money to the payee. In the adverse circumstances, if you not able to pay the money due to unavoidable circumstances and collapse of business. You should file a petition before the Court and broadly elaborates the above circumstances and aware the present status of you life before the Court and the same take time to return the aforesaid money after few months. Declare yourself bankrupt and then file the certificate of bankruptcy. U will get relief. Rather u may also reply to that legal notice and u may ask for some more time or else you may get time from the court.
