Friend claiming cheque issued by me lost I have cancelled it

I was doing some construction business with one of my friends .He invested some 14 lakhs n my self 7 lakhs in Mangalore . firm was in my name.we had four to five sites .we finished the work n i got new work in Bangalore n he was not interested in bangalore.while coming to bangalore i have given him two signed cheques. I have given him 12 lakhs through other cheques .n now when asked about the signed cheques he is saying he lost it.but I am having doubt on him.I think so he has the cheque.I have cancelled the cheque from bank .will there b any problems for me in future can he do anything with that cheque

If you have cancelled the cheque keep records of the same for your future purposes. Please never keep blank cheque with your signature on it. If you issues cheque keep up to date record and a xerox of the same. It will be useful. Thanks for writing

You have done all that you can do with regard to those cheques. How old those cheques are / ? Have u filled up dates ? and do you keep lakhs of balance in your account? there are a few more things you can do to fully make sure that you are safe.
