Cheque Bounce Procedure and recovery of amount and Action against a dt

One of the firm has to pay me certain amount and presently they have crossed the maximum time ,but they have given a cheque of that amount to me , What if the cheque is bounced if I present it to the bank , what will be the consequences and action against that firm , Is it true that their GST and license will be stopped or cancelled?? Kindly explain the whole scenario and punishment with the recovery amount
