Cheque bounce from Tenant but forwarding address not known

22-Aug-2023 (In Cheque Bounce Law)
My Tenant owes me rent (Licence Fee) over Rs. 2 lacs and my application is pending with the Rent Control Authority at Pune. Meanwhile, my Tenant left without providing forwarding address. I have his cheq and I intend to present it. Once it will bounce, I intend to bring pressure on him of the criminal but I don't have his forwarding address. However, I have his e mail and mobile number, both he has stopped answering. Please guide me as to how do I bring pressure on the Tenant ? How does the Rent Control Court deal with such situation ? Can the local Police take my FIR?

Hello,

Once the Cheque bounces, you have a period of 30 days to send him a Notice u/s 138 of the NI Act.

You can send a Complaint to the Local Police Station stating that your tenant has ran away without giving a Address which amounts to Cheating and request them to inquire the same and take action against him. Give the Police the details of the Rent Control Court Case as well to show his record.
