Cheque bounce for the paid amount and case filed after 5months of the

Dear sir. The small currently non functioning saurdha cooperative society has filed a cheque bounce case against me.. the details as follows.. separated 2018 I has to pay the 1.70l. they bouncedmy cheque and sent me legal notice after 20days.. after tat I went to bank and paid 1.20l in instalment till March 2019 expect 50k in balance. They has filed the case on March 2019 for the total amount . October nbw had been issued by court. And next day I paid 50k.. they r demanding me to pay 3.40l . How do I defend.. plz advice. They filed the case after 5months of the cheque bounce..

whatever amount you paid till today you need to keep bank transaction statement and later we can produce before the court only .you can contest case defend yourself whatever you paid telling that amount we have to show in court statements

Yes , first you have to take reguler bail from the magistrate, then only you will be allowed to contest the case. you have not mentioned about mode of payment whether you paid by way of cash or account transfer. If you paid the amount by way of account transfer then you will have good defence for the case, otherwise you paid by way of cash, then you will loose your case most probably. the evidence is required to prove the defence version.kindly contact for Further information and legal assistance.
