Can double amount be claimed from a bounced cheque

Can we claim double amount for cheque bounce case the cheque for 5 lakhs which was given to me says account closed which is why it got bounced want to know can we claim from the company double the cheque amount especially when the company has lot of funds with them?
The company may have a lot of funds ., that shouldn’t be your problem., you are entitled to get what your amount ., which is the cheque amount .. as Long as the issue is not hit by limitation and satisfies other ingredients of NI Act

first a notice for cheque bounce has to be issued. in that notice the interest also claimed, but it cannot be twice of cheque bounce. the court will decide on the interest of cheque bounced amount. a criminal trail may be initiated

No, you can claim only cheque amount. Only court is empowered in cheque cases to sentence the accused double the cheque amount. That is not means you can claim for more than the cheque amount. If you claimed more than the cheque amount in cheque case, it will be a ground to dismiss your complaint
