A friend took the money and gave a cheque now the validity is over

Hiii sir... My friend took a loan from me of 370000 and gave me two cheques dated 2-3-2018 and 6-3-2018 said dont deposit the cheque. So agreed now cheque validity is over.. Can we deposit the cheque for cheque bounce or any legal opinions

Bank will not accept your cheque for clearing. You need to take a new cheque from the debtor. Cheques have only 3 months validity.

Do not ask the debtor to alter the date and sign on it. Demand new cheque only.

The valadity for cheque is 3 month for presentation its over now u have to file case for recovery of money casr by paying court fee according to act so consult an advocate issue notice to them and file case on it.

Hi...First of all to attract cheque bounce case cheque has to be present within 3 months of issuing date if date is mentioned in cheque if there is no date you can present the cheque in later stage also. If not so it is difficult to file a case.
