Not allowed to appear SSB exam due to less marks in provisional degree

20-Nov-2023 (In Armed Forces Tribunal Law)
I am serving in Air Force as an airmen. I did B.A first year and second year from Lucknow University with aggregate 65% marks and then Joined Air Force as an Airmen. After completion of training, I applied lateral entry 3rd year from Annamalai university in that I got 57.75% marks in the provisional they provided to me, they considered only third year marks and gave me second class remarks. I applied for AFCAT entry in Air Force for officers in which 60% is the requirement. I have 61% aggregate in all three year but in the provisional they mentioned only second class. 1 Why I was not allowed to appear in SSB? 2 is there any scope for case on university or Air Force?

if the eligibility for applying for AFCAT was 60 % then the Air Force is right in rejecting the candidature since on paper you were not meeting the eligibility criteria of 60 %. however, in case what you are saying is correct and the University has erroneously mentioned your aggregate as 57.75% instead of 61 % they can be held liable. but the first step to take is to represent against such an anomaly. Did you highlight this mistake to the University and bring this to their knowledge and have they replied to your concern?

Hi, in this case Air Force can't be blamed because they are not undergoing on intricacy of results. In fact university may be approached the laws to amend the mark sheets/results on lateral entry scheme may be asked.
