Legal Guidance on Family Pension Withholding

02-Dec-2024 (In Armed Forces Tribunal Law)
I am seeking your guidance on a legal matter concerning my late father, who was a retired state government employee. After his passing in 2022, my mother began receiving a family pension. However, this month (December 2024), her pension account was put on hold by the bank due to an ATT order for ₹3,06,000. Upon inquiry, the bank suggested the issue might relate to my father being a guarantor or debtor in a debt recovery case. We are unaware of any such liability.

Well, You can file a RTI before the concerned Department to get details of such liabilty. Now, after the father, the liability will be upon you to pay his Debts if you want to be the Successor of his Assets, then you have to be the Successor of his Debts too.
