Q: Can I get dowry return after divorce ?

Hi, What happens to dowry after divorce ? Can I get dowry money back I file for divorce and get separated

yes you can get it back, however there is no provision in law to get the amount back which was incurred by you in your marriage. however if divorce is granted by the court then by way of alimony you may get enough money from your husband.

Q: Ensuring Married Daughters' Rights in Agricultural Lands: Impact of Supreme Court Judgements

As per the amendments to the Hindu Succession Act (2005), married daughters are granted equal coparcenary rights in ancestral or paternal properties, including houses, lands, or agricultural land. However, in a recent case in Uttar Pradesh (UP), after the father's demise, the family composition (Parivarik sadasyta) listed included the widow, sons, and married daughters, yet the land revenue records only reflected the names of the widow and sons. Subsequently, the widow and sons sold the agricultural land without listing the married daughters' names. This has raised concerns about potential injustice towards married daughters' rights. Considering landmark reforms and Supreme Court rulings aimed at ensuring equality under the Hindu Succession Act (2005), what remedies could be pursued in such scenarios?

Advocate Udit Bansal answered
the judgment given by the supreme court applies only in case of ancestral property and if the property was self acquired by your father then it will not come within the above stated judgment moreover if your father died intestate then you, being one of the legal heirs, have equal right in agricultural land too.

Q: Mental harassment by a college faculty leading to low self esteem

I’m a final year female dental student, two of my female faculty talked to me in an ill mannerly way. Throughout the whole conversation they were shouting on the top of their lungs and my fault here was that I hadn’t reminded the faculty to assign me work as my posting had just started in this particular department. While shouting she called me stupid her words were ‘are you stupid? Like seriously are you stupid?’ Then the other faculty said while pointing towards her forehead “idhr kuch likha h mere, kuch dikh rha h tumhe idhr likha hua”. And then she commented that itne mote mote kpde pehne h accha h sardi nhi lg rhi hogi. Isi liye toh aate hi ki araam se baithenge.(this conversation took place on December 27. 2021). This whole conversation took place in the clinic where my juniors heard it, the whole pg department heard it and the waiting patients heard it. After this conversation I couldn’t bare to raise my head and look any one in the eye and it gave me suicidal thoughts.

Advocate Udit Bansal answered
You should record their such ill mannered and unethical conversation. First you may report it to the head of the dental college and if even then nothing is done then you may further take any concrete legal step against them but before all of these things you must record their such conversation.
