Q: A friend of mine promised me a seat in iit but he could not do it

My friend took money from me and said he will not return my money in 2023.can I file suit in 2027 after my retirement .Because I have a regular job and I can not attend court regular

Advocate Simran Jeet answered
Hello,Please note the following,1. You don't need to attend court on a regular basis. Initially you will have to get in touch with your counsel to get the case draft settled. Nowadays meetings can be done virtually which saves a lot of time. 2. Even otherwise, you don't have to visit court regularly. Specific dates are provided on which the matters gets listed and counsels are given a little liberty in taking dates so you can always give tentative dates suitable to you and your counsel can try to get those dates.3. In civil matters, presence of the person who files a case is not necessary on all dates. You only have to visit on certain dates.4. If the transaction has happened early of 2023, there most chances that you're limitation period will expire if you wait till 2027. So you ideally should take steps now.Best Regards,Simran Jeet

Loan payment settle issue I have to settlement my account

Advocate Simran Jeet answered
First step will be entering into oral conversation with Bank representative(s) to discuss terms on which you and they would want to settle. Once the same are agreed, you can then enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bank which shall capture the terms and conditions on which both the parties have agreed to settle.
