Advocate Ramakrishnan S. answered
The terms of the contract will have to be looked into. If you have signed a valid contract and have not delivered the task on time, then as per the contract you will be liable for the same. Would suggest that you have a proper look at your contract to see if there are any conditions/loopholes with regard to the issue of repayment and then take suitable action.

Yes it is recommended that you cross out each page and give it. This is only to ensure that the photocopy is not misused by the other side in any manner whatsoever. Trust that this settles your query and you have clarity on the issue.

Hello sir, My uncle has charged FIR on check bounce of rupees 2lakhs. He went to jail and later he came back on bail after 3 days. Later it got compromised and case was closed. Will have any issue if he apply for VISA. kindly advise on this.

Advocate Ramakrishnan S. answered
Cant really comment on how the VISA authorities would look at the issue but since the case has been compromised and provided there are no previous criminal records, i do believe that it should not be that much of an issue as long as you are transparent in providing all the details to the authorities.

Q: Defamation case by my wife brothers wife who is working in high court.

My wife brother wife put a false defamation case against us and claimed for 3 lakh compensation. I got a call from court and they told this details. How to know this case is genuine or not bcoz my wife brother wife is working in Bangalore high court? As they forced my wife to sign documents regarding property and my wife signed so i wrote this details and distribute to all relatives. Also Iam a press reporter. So please explain me in details to find out this case genuineness and how to defence.

Advocate Ramakrishnan S. answered
Nobody from court usually calls up to inform about a case. You are informed of cases filed against you only when and if you receive a court notice. Sometimes, these kind of calls are used as pressure tactics to get some money out. The high court and district court websites are equipped for you to conduct searches with party names and you can search and see if any case has been filed against you.

Q: Regarding Joint venture agreement for land development

We have signed a joint venture agreement with the land owner that we will develop it at 60:40 ratio and the agreement is already registered what to do if i want to add another name as a partner in the agreement ?

Advocate Ramakrishnan S. answered
You will need to get a rectification deed done and add the partners name as well. The rectification deed is to be a registered document duly registered at the concerned sub-registrars office. The stamp duty for such deeds is nominal in nature.
