My name is incorrect in my 10th board certificate (vishwajeet instead of vishwajeet) and my father name is incorrect in my 10th and 12th board certificate (samresh instead of samaresh) due to this my college grade sheet is also incorrect so I thought of leaving it asa it is but could wrong father name cause issue and ishould correct all the documents?

Advocate Nishant Shankar answered
It is recommended that proper corrections be made when it comes to names in the official documents as the same may bring about troubles in your passport etc. For correction of the same, first you would need a signed a stamped affidavit stating the correct names and the incorrect nature of names in your existing documents. It should be stamped by an Oath Commisioner. Thereafter, you need to publish the clarification in a national and local newspaper. The said affidavit and publication can be used to correct your names in the documents.
