Q: Which city can I file case for defamation

There was a defamatory poster put up in an institution in Mumbai about me. It contained things that ruin my reputation. Through whatsapp and other social media, it has reached people around me in Chennai and it is affecting my social life. I wish to initiate proceedings against the removal and of this poster and see compensation. Can I file a lawsuit in Chennai or must I go to Mumbai where the actual poster is?

Hi Sir/Mamin your scenario, even though the institution is is Mumbai, the institution has circulated defamatory content against you in Chennai and other states including Mumbai, so you are having rights to file the suit for defamation claiming compensation against the post in any place wherever the defamatory post has been circulated by the institution including chennai, mumbai or any other places.

Q: Service centre people are not returning my byke from past 20days

My ev byke has been sent to the service centre due to repair(did not start)So far nobody informed me regarding the issue or when they will resolve.My self called many people but nobody responded,they are picking call now,even i gave complaint to customer care, what shall I do now, please provide me proper solution

Hi Sir/Mam,This issue has been right now more predominant with e-vehicle companies. you have to follow the complaint given to customer care and you should send a mail to the customer care. subsequently if there is no progress, then you have to send a legal notice through your councel an if there is no result, you can file a consumer case with proper receipts and acknowledgement.

Q: Court Fees and timeline for cheque bounce cases

I have cheques from a party for Rs. 1.50 crores. Since they are unable to honor their commitments I am planning to deposit those cheques and approach the court (Coimbatore jurisdiction) under section 138. Please confirm court fees and advocate fees to conduct the case and approximate duration to recover the money and/or to get the court order in my favor.

hi sir,the court fee for cheque case will be 1.5 percent of the cheque amount, but it may some times take upto 3 percent to do all the works.Advocate fee may vary depending upon the advocate you are choosing.there is no specified fee limits for advocate fee rather the experience, degree and associations make the difference in fee.

Q: Doubt about fir which filed on me and it's status

On July police arrested me for speaking with prostitute in street.They tell we'll leave you without fine. They tell me to write my detail on one notebook in station. Then took a picture of me. But when I coincidentally check for fir days ago in online.There is fir in my name with other person name mentioned we try to run when see the police and didn't tell the address properly. But I was caught alone.In status it says Referred(Further action dropped).is any problem comes for me getting govt job

Hi sirGreetings please dont worry about the FIRAs per your query, you have mentioned that the FIR has been referred by the police. which means police has decided that there is no such incident as alleged in the FIR took place and that the police has found no one guilty as per the FIR and so police are closing the FIR.There won't be any problem for you regarding the same but you have to disclose the referred chargesheet whenever you are applying for the government exams as per the notification.

Q: Constant mental harrasment by mother

Hi. I have been married for 5 years now and my mother is constantly abusing me ever since my childhood. She gave me more mental pressure during my pregnancy period and I have consulted psychiatrist for the same. She mentally abused me from my childhood days to even now after my marriage.me and my husband faced so many abuse from her and now she wants me to show my kid to her. I wanted nothing from her but a peaceful life without her and her abuses. How to stay away from her legally. Please help
