Municipal corp constructing drainage in front of my house is it valid

Respected sir, I want to know that nagar nigam started work for big nala(4ftX2ft) in front of our house and road in front of our house is only 30ft. Is this a valid construction work when there is no need for such big nala.
municipal corporation has the authority to construct a nala( for drainage) outside your house. it is the duty of the authorities to look for the civil amenities of the city.
