Can I claim for my share in property from mother after father's death

My father got agriculrural land by partion. After my father death in 2009 my brother made joint khatha in his name and my mother name.it is registered.know can i claim for my share.is it valid or not. My mother says property is in joint khata.i give my share as gift to you. Can she gift it alone or it needs permission from my brother. If it valid how to do it?

The Married daughter have equal right in the parental property after the advent of amendment in Hindu Succession Act 1956, that came into force since 9th sept 2005. The Hindu Succession Act, 1956, originally didn't give daughters equal rights to ancestral property.
