Can landlord have terms on visitors

Hello, I wanted to ask if my landlord can dictate if I can bring visitors of opposite sex or not, and if I can come home late night, or if I can get guests with me late at night. These things has not been mentioned in the agreement, but he asked me to come home before 11, asked me not to get my guy friends over. Is it right on his part to do it?
As per your query, if any such rules and regulations are not specified in your rent agreement then the landlord cannot put such restrictions on you, since you are living in a rented property and not a PG.
