Subject matter of a Central Government Industrial Tribunal

12-Mar-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)

I am unemployed after my services were illegally and arbitrarily terminated by American Express India Pvt Ltd in June 2014. I had moved the CGIT in New Delhi against my employer. The legal counsel for OP filed an objection stating that since i was an employee of travel division of OP, the central government industrial tribunal has no jurisdiction as it should not be confused with a banking company which is the core function of American Express. OP pleaded for case to be sent to state govt. industrial tribunal. Kindly suggest remedies/rulings/judgments/rebuttals.

The facts about your employment and your termination are not very clear. It is uncertain as to why and on what grounds you decided to approach CGIT? As such it would be difficult to advise anything without documentation.
