Firstly, company is likely to terminate employment. Secondly, Company could object or pose difficulty in giving experience certificates, releasing letter, etc. Thirdly, company could initiate both civil and criminal proceedings. Civil proceedings may be for claiming damages (money). Criminal proceedings will be for jail term. Fourthly, company could also publish a notice in newspaper against your friend. All these will pose problems to your friend in getting a job as well as in future prospects. The best solution for him is to enter into some settlement with company to not allow things to escalate further. If that is not possible, seek lawyer assistance when served with Court papers.
