previous employer threatening to give negative feedback to new company

I got selected in govt bank. But my previous employer(private) somehow get into fight on last day. He intimidated me that he would write to Bank authority I I misbehaved nd will do every possible thing so that my joining can be terminated. What should I do??
If the said ex-employer gives you a negative feedback without any fault of yours then you can file a case for defamation against the ex-employer for the same.
