Is husband liable to take care of his in-laws as his wife does for him

09-May-2023 (In Family Law)
I am a roman Catholic. After marriage my husband had a misunderstanding with my mom n refuses to send me to stay at her place even for few days. We are parents to an 8th month baby and i find it difficult looking after him alone. Husband works on d ship n I live with his mother who is a difficult person to live with and instigates my husband against my family. I spent the whole tenure of my pregnancy goin through loneliness and mental and emotional trauma. He gets abusive if i mention goin to my mom place. My mother doesnt keep well n avoids visiting me as my mother in law keeps insulting and taunting her.we are 3 sisters and my mom is a widow isn't it my right to visit or stay with my mom for few days in a month? Can he stop me from visiting my own home and family? Is it that only wives have responsibility towards their in laws and the husband's don't have any responsibility? Do we have any laws in place for situation lik these?

No, your husband can not enforce the same as it is your right to stay wherever you wish to. Also, if he compels you not to stay at your mother's place then you can opt for divorce, by filing a petition in the jurisdictional family court.
