Grandfather promised to take care now not giving share in property

09-Jul-2023 (In Family Law)
My mother has been married for past 24 years and staying separate in maternal home for past 18 years. Earlier my mother's father promised to take care of mother and us children but now after uncle's marriage my mother's father is not taking care on us and not wiling to give share in property as well. There is some ancestral and self acquired property. What do we need to do now?

Your grandfather is not legally bound to take care of you and your mother. But your mother can claim share in the ancestral property. She can file a partition suit and claim share in the ancestral property.

Hmmm,
It's a family dispute that will find difficult to see any light normally ,unless handled in a very careful way, as the court do not rely on emotion or any promissory note but to the legal premity .
