Procedure to change name in the documents

Respected sir /mam The name in my birth certi. Is ashish while my original name which is written in all of my marksheet is ankit..due to two different names i am having trouble while applying for passport ..plz suggest me a solution to change ashish to ankit (the name in marksheets)
Ideally, you should make an application in writing to the board to have a duplicate/corrected certificate or marksheet issued. If the board refuses to do so then you may file a RTI application with your board to enquire into the procedure for having such a correction made.
