How to correct surnames in documents

10-Jun-2023 (In Documentation Law)
Respected sir My father's surname in my cbse marksheets of class 10 and 12 is "singh", whereas my all other id proffs bear my father surname as "bansal". And "Bansal" is the correct one. I want to know how can I get it rectified as 1 year linit for correction period given by cbse is elapsed. My school staff now now ask me to file case against cbse. Is it the only way and if yes what document will be required to prove the corect surname.? I have also heard of name change through publication in official Gazette, can it be used for rectifying father name also?

For this you have to first go n check your Birth Certificate. You can file a declaration suit in court and make it rectified as 'Bansal' in your 10th & 12th marksheet only if your Birth Certificate also bears your father's surname as 'Bansal'.
