Different names in educational certificates procedure to change name

11-Nov-2023 (In Documentation Law)
Respected Sir/Madam, I have problem regarding difference in my name mentioned in various educational certificates. My original name is Ajay Kumar Deb. My SSC markshhet has my name as "Deb Ajay Kumar Anjan'(in maharashtra names are usually recorded in 'surname-first name-father's name' format). But my HSC and B.E. marksheets have my name as 'Deb Ajay Anjan'('Kumar' was removed). This happened bcoz I mentioned my name in HSC exam form as 'Ajay Deb'(so it was my mistake). It has been 5 years now after passing HSC so the college refused to change records. So is there any way so that i can get my name in my HSC and B.E. marksheets rectified? I found that i need to prepare an affidavit stating that these two names are mine and then file a suit in court to get a judgement in my favour. once the order is decreed by the court, I can apply for amendment of my marksheets with the proof of court order. So can you plz explain the entire procedure?

The procedure for name change is as follows:

1. Notice of name change is to be published in a local and a national newspaper.

2. A publication in gazette is to be made regarding the name change.

3. Along with an affidavit has to be made with regard to the name change.

With regard to the consequences, there are no such consequences that we are already aware of or mentioned there in law.
