Married in india and now wife wants divorce in Australia

27-Sep-2023 (In Divorce Law)
We married in India under islamic law and then got our marriage registered in india. Based on that it was registered in Australia. I am an Australian Citizen and my wife is on PR in aus. After 7 years of our marriage now she wants divorce in Australia to get more financial benefit in my property and superannuation. Can I deny to her application of divorce in Australia and request to get it done in India as pre islamic law? Also we have a 3 yr old child who was born in Australia. Please advise. Thanks

As per Indian law if your marriage solemnised and registered of India then you have to file a divorce petition in India. If you can not get divorce From Indian court then your divorce is not valid as per Indian law.
For divorce on mutual consent you or your wife will not come to India, it will done by your power of attorney.
