Husband and In-laws demand for divorce just after few days of marriage

29-Jun-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Iam hindu & I had an arranged marriage. I have been thrown out of my matrimonial home just after few days of my marriage by my in-laws and husband after putting me to hell of harassment and cruelty and demanding divorce from me for no good reason. How could they ruin my life by marrying me to my husband taking lot of dowry and just after few days how can they throw me out of their home for no reason. I have filed 498A and planning for DVC as well. Is there any law that would help me against such injustice where my husband is refusing to live with me and want to get divorced.

Hi
The best way to address the grievance is to ensure that your husband and in laws are impacted to the maximum and that too destructively and rapidly.
A combination of Legal, Financial, Societal and Disruptive actions must be planned to ensure maximum destructive impact.
Legal :
1) 498A and DVC are the two valuable tools you have in hand to legally punish your husband and in laws.
2) You can also claim compensation in DVC
3) If you pursue 498a, your husband and in laws can be sent to jail now(at the time of your complaint) and also later (after conviction)

Financial:
1) File for maintenance and alimonyso as to cripple your husband and his parents financially and that too for life long.
2) You should also file a suit for partition of properties standing in the name of your husband and your in laws as you are legally wedded wife and entitled to share of their properties.
Societal:
1) Call for meeting of relatives (more so of your husband ) and ensure that their acts of violence and cruelty are revealed to all of his relatives . ensure to spread the message through whatsapp, face book etc of their acts of violence and cruelty so that they are socially boycotted.
Disruptive
a) Stagger the dates of all of the above legal cases and ensure that you hire a good lawyer. Since you are the complainant, your presence in court is not required. However you ensure that your lawyer insists on presence of your husband and his parents in all of the hearings (since there are around 2/3 cases) ensure that your husband and in laws attend courts 2 days a week and ensure that the case goes on for 1 year.

DO NOT FILE FOR MUTUAL CONSENT OR DIVORCE till such time you are satisfied that your husband and in laws have suffered enough . this is the only way for you to teach those idiots the lesson of their life.
